Applied Kinesiology in Rochester NY

What is Applied Kinesiology all about?  Is there someone in Rochester NY who specializes in Applied Kinesiology?

Applied Kinesiology is a diagnostic and treatment process that utilizes aspects of Acupuncture, Chiropractic and Naturopathic medicine to treat health issues. It is a school of healing that comprises both traditional and alternative health practitioners and includes dentists, chiropractors and general health physicians. Founded by Dr. George Goodheart  in 1967 Applied Kinesiologists now practice in all fifty states and around the world. The profession has it’s own accrediting body known as the International College of Applied Kinesiology  ( ICAK ) and produces it’s own journal publications. It’s focus is in identifying and removing stress from the body whether the source is structural, chemical / nutritional or emotional. By removing the stress allows the body to have enough space and resources to heal itself. Like other forms of natural healing there are no drugs involved. Treatments can be spread out over a couple of weeks and the treatment process is reevaluated as the patient improves. Much of what is done involves postural analysis and muscle testing to detect abnormalities in the patient’s functioning. When treatments are performed they are usually in the form of chiropractic adjustments, or acupuncture treatments. However they can also involve cranial work, body work and nutritional counseling. The practitioners have a reputation for correcting hard to fix cases and improving is often seen on the first initial visit. Dr. Steven Sadlon of Rochester NY has been practicing applied kinesiology since 1983 and has worked with Dr. Goodheart and many of his colleagues while in Ann Arbor Michigan.
