Controlling blood pressure through diet can be easier than you think. Some simple rules can for a long way. Limiting salt, improved digestion of fats and cutting down the caffeine in coffee are all steps most individuals can take on their own.

Controlling blood pressure can be a tricky deal for your doctor as there are eleven different organs involved. It is not unusual that a provider has to try many different prescriptions until a good match is found.

Anything that can be done through diet and lifestyle is a big advantage for any patient.

Diets high in saturated fats and partial hydrogenated oils are the chief culprit, but often the problems lies in the fact that the person has trouble digesting them. Undigested fat can lead to atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerosis is fat accumulation in the arteries which can raise the blood pressure and lead to heart disease. It’s important to keep your diet high in the good fats. Good fats can be found in avocados, fish oil and olive oil.

The addition of digestive enzymes, especially lipase, is useful as lipase will help break down and digest the fats. When taken on an empty stomach, lipase doesn’t have any work to do and often will target plagues in the arteries and start breaking it down in a safe systematic way.

Also, it’s very important to get the stress in your life under control. Stress always attacks the weakest area of the body and repeated episodes of being mad at your boss or spouse, keeps your nervous in heightened state of ‘ fight or flight’ and your body physiology responds appropriately by raising your blood pressure.
